 Harry was sitting on his four-poster bed, the curtains open and a book in his lap. He had read the same sentence over 15 times now, he was sure. He groaned, exhausted with the homework, and shut the book. He tossed it aside, hoping it would just land on the edge of his bed, but he had overshot and it zoomed past his bed and slammed onto the floor. He jumped slightly at the sound, walking over to pick it up. It seemed he wasn't the only one in the boys dormitory, and he glanced over at Severus Junior. He didn't say anything. The two boys didn't necessarily have a friendly relationship. It was kind of hard to do when your fathers were always very clear how they felt about each other. That hadn't stopped Harry from becoming friends with Lily, but that was kind of her doing. She had approached him in search of friendship for the sake of being a rebel years ago. Why couldn't she be in his house instead? Severus T. Snape Jr.

His wand was sitting on the bed beside him while his wand hand made the movements for one of the spells they were going to be working on later in class. When he heard the thud of a book hitting the ground, Sev didn’t look up, knowing it had to be Potter, given his four poster was in that same direction. He heard the shuffling of feet against the ground, and finally glanced up to see Potter grabbing his book. “Careful Potter, you could’ve stubbed someone’s toe.” Mostly they had avoided each other as much as possible, and it helped he wasn’t much of a talkative type. Staying out of each other’s way was the status quo, but he had recently seen Potter and his sister getting a bit closer than he would like. Nothing major, friendship, but who knew what could become of that if left unchecked. “I have been meaning to talk to you, Potter. What exactly is your relationship with my sister?” |

Sev spoke, something about stunning someone's toe, Harry rolled his eyes a little, turning away to hide that fact. He was about to retort when Sev added that he'd been meaning to speak to him and Harry froze, then the question came. Immediately amusement spread across his features, his eyes squinting s little with it behind his glasses. "We're... Friends," he shrugged, but his tone was anything but casual. His underlying amusement made was clear. He brushed off the top of his book, busying himself with it. "Why, did she say something?"Severus T. Snape Jr.

It wasn’t like he was tasked with this from his father – no he didn’t need to be tasked with it. Some might say he was over-protective, but it wasn’t like he was going to Potter saying they needed to end whatever was going on between them. He simply wanted to know. So then he could tell his father and then Potter could be threatened.
Sev’s eyes dropped back down to his book, his hand waving in the movement once more. It was similar to an ‘m’ shape, but with little curves at the end and a little curve in the middle. As if someone stretched the letter a bit apart with the two humps being each half. “What if she did?” She didn’t. He was just observant. “I would like to hear your side of things. You do realize who our father is, yes? And how… protective he can be. You may not be afraid of him, but would you put my sister in that sort of… position just to satisfy your… ego?”

Sev Jr. turned back to his book and Harry took the moment to walk to his bed, which was a few bed over from his. They were the only two in there, though, so they could talk over the room. He watched Sevs hand for a moment before opening his own book again and laying it on the bed in front of him. He didn't look down at it. "Are you saying your father would do something to Lily? I highly doubt that. He may be..." he paused, "your dad, but I don't think he'd give Lily that hard of a time. I think she'll be fine," he could think of some more snarky ways to say that but Harry generally didn't believe in taking hits at family. Sassing someones intelligence, sure, but not their family. He looked down on people who were like that. Severus T. Snape Jr.

To Lily? He had to be joking. Their father was protective of both of them, but he wouldn’t do anything to her specifically. Sev rolled his eyes and put his book down onto his lap. “Not her. What Gryffindor would put a young lady through feeling responsible for the torture of someone whom she may consider a friend?” He stared at Potter, his expression blank and unreadable. “I never once said he would do something to her. But you? Considering who your father is and who her father is, it would be a shame to throw more fuel onto that fire. All I wish to know is what your relationship is with my sister. Then I can prepare my father for the news properly.” |

 Well, Sev Jr. had quite the tongue on this issue. It wasn't a big surprise. Considering what he had said about their parents and teachers fuel on the fire and all, this roughness between the two of them was expected. Still, he couldn't tell Sev about the truth between him and Lily really having no actual romantic feelings for each other. That would ruin all the fun. Still, it would be hard to find a way to break this conversation up with an actual answer to the question without hurting the families in some way. Though, if he did love Lily like that, he'd fight for her whether her father was Severus Snape or not. "We're close, Sev. I share my soul and she shares hers," he said with a small shrug, walking back toward his bunk again, sitting on the edge of it. "No matter what our relationship is I don't think it's anyones business other than ours," he tried not to say it harshly, but it came out with a bit of a snap. Severus T. Snape Jr.
