Riley is someone well aware of her surroundings, understanding early on the kind of differences that age can impose. Keeping her head immersed in books because of it, most would be surprised to find how willing she is to dish back behavior she deems unnecessary, when provoked.

- Major Events
- Early Life (Pre-Hogwarts)
Being raised by two pure blood parents within the wizarding world, the culture surrounding the life of magic were things she had naturally learned from her parents. Knowledge of it was different from practice however, and quite often the things she had been told of, she was interested in seeing for herself. With the kind of professions her parents had lived, one of the two were always around to entertain her curiosity, making trips here and there that they could viably do without having to use vacation days for her to experience.
It wasn't hard to sate her excitement, being a child, but it would be underestimating her intelligence, to believe that she wouldn't notice the places they had never been. Trips that were too long, and upon raising the question, she found that she would have to earn. Being provided some books here and there that belonged to her parents, where another new curiosity was ignited, she was kept busy enough until her parents were able to make arrangements to really give her the experience she had wanted.
The wait to do so wasn't actually as long it had seemed. While part of the process had her going to usual locations they could make trips to, the kind of familiarity she gained of the area was noticed by both patrons and owners. Little as it was, the recognition was something she took pride in, and at home amongst her parents, she was able to show off what she had learned here and there. Words she was unfamiliar with mostly, but some understanding of the assignments her parents did as well.
As she grew older, the energy that she had as a child settled in well enough for her to appear distant, keeping to herself more than those around her had known her to be, at first glance. In reality however, anyone holding a conversation with her would find it quite apparent it's dependent on who has her attention. The pride of recognition she gained in her childhood, she learned to bottle until able to share it, finding that there were a lot of things one can notice when not being the center of attention. - Hogwart Years
Her four years at Hogwarts had been full of wanting to experience what she knew her parents had. There were only so many assignments that they had around, which she could have made use of, and ease the kind of studying that she would have to do. But what information she lacked, she would be able to find out, given any time to talk to upperclassmen, while adjusting herself to the workload.
The start of the first year, being sorted into one of the different houses were always one of the bigger things. The divide it created for some, while not affecting others. She wouldn't have considered it common to be friends with those outside of an assigned house, knowing they couldn't go into the same common room, and trying to make it work, wasn't patience that many would bother with.
She was open enough about what she noticed with this, to go and adapt her schedule where needed, but one thing about her to realize is how much she doesn't mean to offend with certain actions or opinions. Anyone glancing her way would notice more how familiar she wanted to be with where they were allowed in the castle, along with the subjects that they studied. History of Magic, Astronomy, and Herbology, were the courses she enjoyed the most, relying more on her own pacing alongside the application.
All the other courses required lots of more effort, and while Defence Against the Dark Arts wasn't a particularly bad class, it did involve the kind of practice she would rather refrain from, as someone who'd rather sit on the sidelines than do something like duel. Her second year furthered knowledge she had, but only offered things to look forward to more than anything else.
Third year brought with something more memorable than the previous year of chatting with upperclassmen, bringing along the electives of Arithmancy and Study of Ancient Runes. Hogsmeade being an option to relax in, made the year even more wonderful. There was so much to take in, and many other things to look forward to in the last few years. Fourth year, while it possessed an identical structure finally paved the way into preparing for O.W.L.s. which could affect their career outside of school.
An application of what they learned, and proving that spells were meant to be practiced rather than done with. It proved to be the busiest year she had, trying to properly arrange her schedule accordingly enough to also be able to enjoy herself. This coming fifth year, she knew wouldn't be any easier, but it held one of the most desired position she had been waiting to experience. The desire to becoming a Prefect would be a challenge that required her to take into consideration her life. More than she ever had the previous years she thought about where her years here had taken her. But she was excited, as it wouldn't be until later that courses would start to exhaust her.
