So I lay my head back down and I lift my hands and pray. To be only yours I pray, to be only yours. I know now you're my only hope. ►
The chocolate analogy had her blinking and she laughed. Well, it wasn't exactly the reaction she was expecting, but expect the unexpected, right?
"So with that said, where am I categorized then?"
She giggled, "I prefer my chocolate dark, but with bits of dried fruits in it. It's like a tiny surprise."
She snickered. "Or, you know, mint. Mint is always good.
She shrugged. "I am possibly biased. Because I don't see that at all. Grey hairs. Ha!"
But here was right about one thing, those girls are indeed teenagers.
"Now, I'm not saying that if any of them should say anything, you should jump them, but... it would be rather cute, is all. None of them has an idea about what it would mean to love you anyway. So all it is is just a cute thought. You need someone who can handle you at your best and your worst. Not just what these girls see every day."
Rose smiled, hearing the words of praise of her husband from her brother's mouth. If Severus ever heard it, he'd think Remus was pulling his leg - sad, but true - but she appreciated it.
"Don't feel guilty. You're family. Our kids' uncle. I want to see you see your kids grow, and mine too. And of course, I need you. We have our monthly sister-brother nights, you know?"
She giggled. "Even if I didn't have Severus' expertise helping me out, I'm pretty good at potions too, and I would've done it too. Tweaking the wolfsbane."
She smiled, "I... I'm sure that perhaps... someday. It'll come to a head and just finally be let go. But the two of you co-existing for me is enough. I appreciate that neither of you forces me to choose sides."
She chuckled, "well, I mean... I blame Molly for that. But I suppose us Lupin's just have a thing for the dramatics. I am happy to see you though, but Severus seems to know whenever I cry, and he hates it regardless of the reason."
Her shoulders shook with laughter. "So I went for a different approach. But, as I said, Molly. She sent her son a howler a couple of years ago and I about died laughing."
She eyed him, "might as well order the entire cake then, if that's the case."
She rolled her eyes as they arrived at the stairs that headed into the dungeons.

[attr="class","box2"]He pursed his lips and thought for a moment, stroking his chin and the little bit of facial hair he had. He really needed to shave. But he couldn’t find it in himself – perhaps it was laziness, or perhaps he enjoyed it a bit. “I think you’re like a really good chocolate bar filled with caramel. Smooth and different. But if you take a bite, it’ll be stuck in your teeth forever. Won’t ever get free, but a lot of the time you don’t mind it too much because of the sweet taste.” He chuckled and rolled his neck, “But perhaps a bit of a dark chocolate as well, with a bit of a bite.”
Remus rolled his eyes. “Grey hairs yes.” He reached up and plucked one out of his head and held it up. “See? I’m getting old. Those kids are going to be the death of me. Not that I mind.” He sighed, letting the hair fall and then running his hand through his hair. “It wouldn’t be cute. It’d be worrying. Crushing on a guy like me. Father issues, that’s what it would mean. I would worry for their mental health. Absolutely no one could like someone like me. Too self-deprecating, boring, crusty, old, poor, dangerous.”
Swallowing, Remus looked down for a moment and then shook his head. “I wish their mother could see them grow up as well. I miss her, you know?” He pursed his lips and sucked in a deep breath. It’d been over a decade since Dorcas had passed, but to him, it felt like it was just the other day he was holding her hand, crying himself to sleep, hoping, wishing he could find a way to save her. And then waking up, holding her hand, and finding that she had passed over the night. Destroyed, distraught, it was difficult to do anything after that, but he had three children, two boys and a girl, still babies, toddlers who needed their father to take care of them. In a lot of ways… he never felt he got the time to grieve over her.
“He does have a sixth sense. Rose crying radar of some sort. I most definitely prefer this over a howler in the middle of the Great Hall, while everyone watches on. I’m glad you, at least, respect my privacy over that. In a way, it was a punishment, not that I would ever do that to any of my children.” He pursed his lips and shook his head. “Regardless, I do much prefer this over Severus marching over and glaring at me as if I killed someone.”
Stepping down the steps he chuckled lowly and then leaned towards her a bit. “Only one cake?” | [attr="class","box23"] Are you insane like me? Been in pain like me? [attr="class","tagbox12"]Words: 326 |

So I lay my head back down and I lift my hands and pray. To be only yours I pray, to be only yours. I know now you're my only hope. ► She listened aptly to his description. "So, dark chocolate, a bit of caramel. Annoying, yet sweet. I got you."
She giggled, pulling him closer. She rolled his eyes at his next statement and then sighed. "I suppose I can agree with that. But you are not too old," she caught the hair before it could fall, pocketing it with a wiggle of her brow. "or boring, or poor, or dangerous, or self-deprecating."
She shook her head, "I honestly thought we had that worked out with you."
She shook her finger at him. "Don't make me take over your house this summer. Because I will."
His eyes then downcasted and her arm tightened around him. "I know. I miss her too. But she's watching over you and your children, even as we speak."
Her hand dived into his hair, mussing it up, letting him have his moment. She knew he hadn't had the time to grieve, and honestly, he needed it, eventually; or he'd never move on. How she wasn't quite sure though.
She grinned at him, "I know you prefer your privacy. Thus why I busted into your office. That and I would never, ever, ever, ever send you a Howler." She giggled, waggling her brow at him. "Yeah, I mean... he was already mad that I was so worried for you over the summer."
She chuckled. "This is better. And yes, one cake, you glutton!"

[attr="class","box2"]He smiled and nodded. “Annoying in a good way though.” He gave her a wink as they walked on.
“Old habits die hard.” He chuckled lowly and gave her a small smile. “Doesn’t help I am growing older and older every minute. I can’t look at all these kids and think of potential mates. First of all, I’m their professor. Second, my kids are going to school with them. And finally, I already found the love of my life. I don’t know if I can… do that again. That last one applies to everyone.” He ran a hand through his hair and gave her a small smile.
“Oh dear, if you did that, I’m sure Severus would kill me for taking you away from him.” He winked and chuckled lowly.
He took his moment, his eyes sad, darkened, thinking of Dorcas. He missed her oh so much. He loved her. Their romance was something he didn’t expect, but after that one drunken night together, everything just fell in together. She was stubborn, but kind. There was a fire in her eyes he had seen rarely, a fire to want to succeed, to help those around her – even if they were on the other side of the war. If they were in need of help, she tried to help. In the end, she wasn’t murdered. She simply became sick and died to it. The world was not kind to him. However, at least his friends, his family, they were there for him.
“And I appreciate that you respect that part of me. My personal life has no business in my professional life. Even if my students may consider me their friend – they are… my students. Though it is hard to be impartial, given some are much more likeable than others.” He chuckled and shook his head. Regardless of that, he was always fair when it came to everything that he did involving his students. He worked with each to help curb their weaknesses and bolster their strengths – to make them into the best them possible. “Well, you can tell him that I am sorry for angering him.” He gave her a wink.
“Damn… Well, I suppose you can have something else in that case.” | [attr="class","box23"] Are you insane like me? Been in pain like me? [attr="class","tagbox12"]Words: 373 |

So I lay my head back down and I lift my hands and pray. To be only yours I pray, to be only yours. I know now you're my only hope. ► "Right, a good way," she giggled. "Okay, okay, okay okay okay. Students are out, I get it. What about a fellow staff member?" Her brows waggled. Or a sister of a certian staff member.
Callie had been on her mind lately. Callie was a bit too young probably for Rem, but she had a sister. A spring young thing with Pink Hair. Auror. A penchant for danger and trouble. She watched as the mood changed in his eyes and was just... there for him.
"Or your best friends son. Your sister's kids. It's hard to keep it all neat and tidy isn't it?"
She eyed him. "Me?! Something else!?"
She tackled playfully into him, at the bottom of the stairs. "So MEAN!"
