Poor Hedwig indeed, not being able to have Harry all to herself. When Lily reached out to ruffle his hair, speaking about how he was a good son, he chuckled. He pulled his head back out of her reach. "Hey, got to do something to get dinner over the summers," he joked. His mother actually really wasn't into cooking but she would do it anyway. His dad actually didn't seem to mind it, which most wouldn't expect. Harry gave a little jerk of his arm to encourage Hedwig to fly back to her perch for now. She flew away, but stared him angrily because he hadn't let her fly off with the letter yet. "I'll be back before the next class, I promise," he told her. He turned back to Lily, "do you want to walk back to my common room with me?"Lily E. Snape
